There’s an antidote found in all this to so many of our current obstacles.
Fear of failing, loss of hope, procrastination by perfectionism, losing your own voice, learned helplessness, framing yourself too narrowly.
At the bottom an experience grows that to know myself I need to look to myself from that still point of unknowing.
Myself in action to myself.
The paradox is that therea more and more rooted, though ungraspable sense of I grows.
Vertical just as the letter “I” that, as if walking with a stick that connects me to the ground below me.
It functions as a navigator wherever I go horizontally.
And, yes you can prompt an I.
It will answer, point the way to many of your questions.
It’s quite intelligent, gets constant updates - and you get endless credits.

Rudolf Steiner on imaginative thinking:
These images are found in imaginative thinking. But this imaginative thinking is a reality, and it is into this that we immerse ourselves when we dive into the surging thought that flows along in the stream of time.
From Gaston Bachelard's The Poetics of Space:
The mind is able to relax, but in poetic revery the soul keeps watch, with no tension, calmed and active.
From William Blake's Milton:
The imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself.
Steve Paxton exploring Standing Practice:
Feel the spine rising through the shoulders and up to support the skull. At the center of standing you observe some small movements. I call this the small dance. This seems to be a reflexive action, especially around the joints, to keep you upright even though you're very relaxed. You could decide to fall, but not yet. You are watching yourself stand.
I start with arriving in a standing posture, gently opening all of the joints in the body
spiraling with rotational swings in different levels
a couple of other coordination variations
"shooting the bow"
and then finishing with a gentle massage of the lower back.
Finishing where we started: standing to observe what changed.
Hope the sun’s out where you are and the birds are signing there too ☀️

Your Imagination Acts
In this video, based on last week's letter I explore how inner images - the landscapes, shadows and metaphors that arise in your mind - directly shape your actionsand stuck patterns.
We dive into both the why (and the how) of venturing into the "dark" regions of your inner world (with your own lantern of awareness) reveals hidden drivers of your behaviour and opens pathways to greater physical freedom, cognitive plasticity and presence.
Throughout the video you'll see various practices that complement each other to increase engagement with your inner life, supported by a body that has learned to relax and ground deeply.

Olivier Goetgeluck COACHING & WORKSHOPS Dear Reader, There is a tendency in meditation - or in any stillness practice - to sit in worries for 20 minutes instead of sitting in stillness for 20 minutes. This tendency originates in a specific behaviour:sitting with your own answers to your own questions. Stuck in a loop. Question, answer, outcome. Question, answer, outcome. Question, answer, outcome. The skill that can be awakened and trained is different. To sit with the question. Allow it to...
Olivier Goetgeluck COACHING & WORKSHOPS Dear Reader, I notice that what I want to share doesn’t always want to be written. It wants to be spoken - raw, from the park bench, from a walk, overhearing a topic in the coffee bar, from the minutes after a session when something feels alive before I lose the impulse I’ve started a podcast. It will not polished. Not TikTok-edited to remove open spaces where I'm thinking. Not scheduled. Just honest audio reflections when they come. The first one is...
Olivier Goetgeluck COACHING & WORKSHOPS Dear Reader, When a person experiences a health issue or symptom, it is natural to look for causes in their lifestyle. To observe: What and how one eats What one does in the hours before sleep What one does first thing in the morning How active one is Which beverages one consumes What one's occupational situation is like What the childhood situation was like etc... A review of one's outer life can be mapped out and brought into focus this way. One can...
